Society
Society is derived from
the Latin word socius which means companionship or friendship. It can be
defined as the collection of individuals united by certain relations or mode of
behaviors which make them different from others who do no enter into these
relations or who differ from them in behavior.
Characteristics of Society:

It is an abstract concept.
b.
It is dynamic concept.
c.
There is no possible to assume society
without the presence of individual.
d.
There is interdependency.
e.
It is based on likeness and difference.
f.
There is cooperation and conflict.
g.
In society, culture is an indispensable factor.
h.
There is mutual awareness.

There is social control.
Community
It is a social group with some degree of we feeling
and people are living in a given area. It can be also defined as the collection
of the numbers of people which share a common territorial area group and can embrace
all aspects of life.
Characteristics of Community:

is presence of we feeling.
b. There
is similarity.
c. It
has specific territory.
d. There
is presence of homogeneity in culture.
e. It
has common rule and wider objectives.
f. There
is inborn membership.
g. It
has a strong group feeling.
h. It
has organized interactions.
Difference between Society and Community:
